PRAKASH'S LETTER
I would like to respond to Prakash's letter. As a white American, I agreewith this sentence totally- "It is disgraceful that whites have deterioratedto such levels, where all they are good for is having sex, partying, drinking, smoking, taking drugs etc."A lot of people I know I ARE lazy and thisquote describes many (not all) white Americans. I would add to the list"watching TV, playing video games and consuming.
"I think it is a shame when people of ANY race let themselves deteriorateto this level. If Asians and Indians are showing themselves to be superiorin business, academia, and in their family and spiritual life, my personalopinionis that it is due to their culture, not genes because I don't belivethat any one race is genetically inferior or superior to any other. However,I believe that CULTURES can be superior.
A culture that emphasizes hard work, spirituality, family, abstention fromalcholhol and drugs, and academic achievement IS superior. These attitudescan be found in pockets in all races. Nothing is stopping anyone from anyrace from emulating these attitudes, though it is easier if you were raisedin a strong family that taught such attitudes from birth. Any group thatchooses to achieve deserves what they get - more power to you, I say.
I have always thought that it is wrong, for example, to exclude Asians fromcolleges because there are already "too many" enrolled. If theyare good enough, they should be in no matter what their race. They obviouslywanted it badly enough to work for it. Nothing is stopping any of us fromachieving more in life.
Instead of whining about what others have, we should work to get it ourselves.Race is irrelevant to me. That was a great letter, very interesting. Thankyou for publishing it.
