On December 7, 1998, ACRR noted that four Democratic Members of the Judiciary met with reporters in Washington at a meeting that was videotaped and later carried on National Cable by C-SPAN. Although African Americans are only 13% of the American Republic (Scott, Lee, Waters) and Jews (Nadler) are only 2% of the American Republic, they represented 100% of the NEWS Conference.
So, persons from groups representing the vast majority of 85% of Americans were missing and their views were not heard.
Yet no one questioned the mixture of this meeting.
Question 1 -- For Group Discussion or Writing Assignments: Do minorities run the Democratic Party and, if
so, is it right for minorities to use their influence to work
against MAJORITY INTERESTS?
Question 2 -- For Group Discussion or Writing Assignments: If it is it all right for minorities to run the Democratic Party, when do the majority get a chance to be represented?
Question 3 -- For Group Discussion or Writing Assignments: Is there a DOUBLE STANDARD for civil rights issues in America and South Africa where a mere 10% of elitists ruled the 90% majority population, and, is that being done here?
Question 4 -- For Group Discussion, Research, or Writing Assignments: What percentage of what groups of Americans vote Democratic? Republican? What do the answers to your research in this matter mean? Is there a chasm between groups in America or are we growing together? Is our nation in a healthy situation as far as minority influences? If minorities begin to rule our nation, will this bring trouble to us as it did to South Africa?
